When I Lay My Burden Down

When I Lay My Burden Down

This story was about this girl that they called sister and her grandmother. Her grandmother works at a store for the white people. This was back in slaver days and they had to do what the people told them to do, like cleaning up the store and taking out the trash and stuff like that. Her grandmother wasn’t the only one working at the store, her uncle work there too. They family didn’t have that much money so they had to go get water out the well to drink and to take a bath with. But they mama was always on to them about taking a bath. She wouldn’t let them go sleep into they took a bath. Every night she would look at there feet to make sure they took a bath and if they feet was dirty and she see them she would pull them out the bed and make them take a shower.

One day after the girl sister was cleaning the yard of the store for her grandmother, cause she didn’t like to see her grandmother doing all the work. So she just started doing some of the work for her and her grandmother would just sit down and rest. One day after sister got done cleaning up the yard and she sat down on the store front porch with her grandmother, and she seen these old ladies that use to just come by to just pick with her grandmother. That day they came, sister grandmother told her to go in the store, but sister didn’t want to go cause she knew what was going on. The ladies came to the store and just starting messing with sister grandmother, and sister was in the store right by the front door. She just looking outside at the people talking to her grandmother and she look down by the counter and seen a rifle. Then she started thinking what would my grandmother want me to do, but by the time she went outside the women had left. She asks her grandmother what she do to make them leave a she said that she just sat there and song to herself and they finally left.

I think that the author was trying to get people to see that you don’t have to have money to do everything. In the story they did have that much money, but they mama still found a way to put food on the table every night. She also made sure they was clean before they went to bed cause if they was clean she would wake them up and make them take a bath. When they got to take a bath they had to go get water from the well so that they can bath.

The author was seemed like that he was trying to prove another point in the story. When they ladies came to the store to start with sister’s grandmother, she was just sitting there sing her a song and paying them no attention. They had seen that she was paying them no attention they left. The point that I think the author prove right there was that you don’t have to fight to solve everything you can just pay them no attention and they will leave you.

This story would be important to other people life cause it show them that they don’t need that much money to have a good family. It would show people that fighting or any type of violence wouldn’t solve anything.
Right now in the World

My article was about how china is coming up and starting to make everything. If you look on almost everything you pick up it has made by china on it. It’s like they make everything we use in our life today and they are taking over. They send the things from over there and sell it to us for a high price, but when you over their things are much cheaper.

China is a massive nation both in physical size and population. China nation is about three times bigger than United States and 1.3 billion people living in china and 294 million in the United States. China is the second biggest producer in the world and they are saying soon it will be the largest producer in the world, but the United States is the largest right now.

What is the mean idea of this story? The main idea of this story is that china is starting to make a lot things now and their population is going up.

There are currently over 1.3 billion people living in china.
China is a massive nation both physical size population
Their economy is growing at a staggering 10%pear year.
