Why I'm Here

Why I’m here
In my tenth grade year I got into some trouble outside of school. When I got ready to go back to school, they wouldn’t let me back in; they said that I had to go to a meeting before I could come back to school. I had to wait three days for a meeting to come up and I was missing days of school, even though I felt ready to go back to. On the day of the meeting they told me that they were going to keep me out of school for one calendar year.

For a year I had to sit at home without anything to do; so one day my mama and I tried to get my records so that I could go to another school in a different county. We went to the school that I was enrolled in, and they wouldn’t let my records go. The only thing they would give me was a piece of paper telling where I went to school. The other school told me they weren’t going to be able to let me in school without records. The school that I was enrolled in wouldn’t let my records go because they said that I was suspended for one year and that they cannot release my records until my suspension is ended.

Then I started trying to have home school with this lady my mama knew. The lady used to teach at school. I went to her for about three weeks, and then she moved to Florida. Now I just had to sit out of school until my suspension was up. After my year was up I tried to go back to school and they let me go for day. The second day they told me that my suspension wasn’t up and that I had to wait until the school year is over to come back. But I agreed to come back then, because at the time it was March and I wouldn’t get a credit for the class.

The next year I went back to school and I was doing well, passing all my classes. But my court date was coming up and I missed five days straight, but I had an excuse for missing those days from school. One day the assistant principal pulls me in his office, telling me about I have missed a lot of days from school I explained why I had miss so many days of school, but he wasn’t buying it. On the next day I brought him some of the paper showing him that I had an excuse. Then he told me that it wasn’t enough excuse for those absences, and he said that he was going to kick me out of school again until January, Since it was only November, I had to sit out of school for a month.

Later that month, people told me that I may as well go to Classic City, but I didn’t know anything about Classic City. I kept telling them that I’m going back to regular high school and that I am going to graduate. Then some time in December I went back to the school to get my schedule for the next semester. The assistant principal saw me when I came back and asked me, why was I trying to come back to this school. When he said that I got real mad and we started arguing with each other. Then I told him told him to just give me my records so that I can go to another school.

Having decided to come to Classic City and I kept calling them asking them when I could have a meeting so that I can get into school. So finally I had a meeting with Mr. Hunter and he let me in Classic City. Ever since then I have not had any trouble in school and have had good grades. Now I feel like I made a good choice to come to Classic City.
